Our Story
Bloomin’ Sally’s Used Books is a passion project grown from a deep love of reading and a desire to share good stories.
Founded in 2025, our name has its roots right here in the Northwest Territories. "Blooming Sally" is a colloquial name for fireweed: the wild, resilient flower that blazes across the NWT landscape every summer. It felt like the perfect spirit for a used bookstore: something that spreads naturally, finds its way into unexpected places, and brings a little colour wherever it lands. Since bibliophiles can't turn away the opportunity for a bit of wordplay we added the apostrophe S and there you have it — suddenly Bloomin' Sally isn't just a flower, she's the one popping up like fireweed, bringing people their next favourite read — and maybe a cheeky sticker or two. We liked that. We kept it.
Our Catalogue and Service
At this time, we proudly operate online, specializing primarily in Adult and Young Adult (YA) / New Adult fiction.
We believe in clarity. While online used booksellers use umbrella guidelines for grading books, these can remain subjective. This is why we take the time to photograph every book in our inventory, so you can feel confident you’ll be getting exactly what you ordered when you choose Bloomin' Sally's Used Books.
For our local patrons, we offer a special convenience: free delivery within the City of Yellowknife on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons, or same-day pickup as early as 6:00pm MST on non-delivery days. Flat-rate shipping is available everywhere else in Canada.
